Green Addition with ICF & SIPS Panels Fulton MD
This is not ordinary addition but totally Green building. ICF walls are used on the all exterior walls. SIPS panels were used for best ceiling insulatin in addition to also highlight real structural beams. Custom made ridge Skylights by Leska matching all metal flashing also difuse light 2 floors down by smart halway design. Leska suggested Nu-Lok slate roof to match with the old home charm and to blend the super Green adition but to blend it with the historic home to which it is atached. Because ICF walls use sturofoam the best finish surface is EIFS. Leska aplied EIFS and the 3' tall stone wall with flagstone parapets is not only tying the stone look of the old home. BUt also have practical dirt repeling property. European zing gutters and downspouts were used to one day collect rain water. The standing seam metal roof over both shed dormers is party designed to cary in future PV solar system on back side. Owner had also Geothermal system installed. The amount of tax credits allowed owner to apply for reduced loan and already his energy bills are less than 1/3 over traditional building. The ROI on those technology up front cost is greater even over soalr and on smoe as fast as 3 years!!!!
